Rules Changes for Summer Season 2014/15

RULE CHANGES - SUMMER SEASON 2014-15

 

EFFECTED RULES

  • "Fill in" players have been revised to provide more eligible "fill in" players.
  • There will be no uniform penalties during the first two rounds of the season.
  • The EDJBA has broadly adopted the Basketball Victoria uniform policy with regards to a number of uniform standards, including jewellery, fingernails, wrist bands, braided or plaited hair and other equipment.
  • Jewellery and wrist bands must be removed, however if it can't be removed it may be securely covered, preferably with medical strapping tape.
  • Braided or plaited hair which swings free from their head must either be secured into a bun or removed.
  • 2014 FIBA rules changes will apply from the start of the Summer Season 2014/15, including:
    • Art. 36.3.3 - a player shall be disqualified for the remainder of the game if they are charged with 2 technical fouls.
    • Art. 36.4.2 - the penalty for a technical foul on a player, coach or bench has been changed to 1 free throw, followed by a throw-in at the centre line extended, opposite the scorer’s table.
  • Still and video photography is permitted
  • A clearance is now required, regardless of when the player last played for the previous EDJBA Club.
  • For Walkover games the score will now be 20-0
  • For Forfeit games the scores will stand unless the forfeiting team won, in which case the score will become 2-0 in favour of the team receiving the forfeit.
  • For Abandoned games, if cancelled during the first half, shall be declared a nil-all draw.
  • For Abandoned games, if abandoned at or after half time the score will stand if the margin is ten points or greater, otherwise the game will be declared a nil-all draw.
