Dear Members
On behalf of the Committee I would like to thank you for being part of one of the most exciting seasons in Warringah's recent years. Winning the NSW Club Championships for the third year running was a perfect finish to a great season.
Now it's time to get started on our defence and a great season of training and racing along the way.
We are starting the year, in August, with three duathlons followed by six triathlons running from November to April. The great breakfasts (courtesy of Organic Food Networks) will continue as will the barbeque sponsored by PT Precision Automotive. We are working with our race sponsors on a great selection of raffle prizes as well as prizes for place getters. The price for members remains unchanged at $20 for a duathlon and $25 for the triathlon. Non members will pay an additional $15 per race to cover insurance.
In September and October we have 24 members representing Warringah (and Australia) at the various World Championships on the Gold Coast and in Perth.
At the presentation day we announced the appointment of Dan Howitt as our new club coach. Dan has been running swim squads over the past six months and will expand his activities to include cycling and running. Members will be able to attend a range of free coached sessions with Dan every week. In addition Dan will be offering specific training programs and additional coaching to members at preferred rates.
The Committee is focused on continuing to build a community of like minded people on the Northern Beaches to support each other in reaching your own personal goals.
To kick start this we will be holding a member renewal day at Northside Runners (5-7 Raglan St, Manly) on July 25. The membership fee remains at $50 which is the same rate as the past two years. Come to the shop between 10am and 2pm to renew your membership. Everyone who comes down on the day will be eligible to win a lucky draw prize worth well over $1,200. The prize, provided by Northside Runners, includes a Erox triathlon wetsuit, a tri suit and a pair of running. Luke will also be providing great prices on the day for anyone wanting to purchase running equipment.
As well as the amazing prizes from Northside Runners, two lucky members will receive a free 3 month training program from Dan Howitt. To be in the draw you need to renew prior to July 31.
If you can't make it on the day then please renew your membership on line. Go to the Membership tab and click on Join On line. If you have already entered your details into our new database choose Existing Individual and enter your ID and password. If you've forgotten them just follow the prompts. You can now pay by credit card
For members who haven't entered their details into the new database click on New Individual Sign Up and follow the instructions.
