QLD knock off RAMS in U16 Grand Final

The NSW/ACT RAMs have gone down to Queensland by 21 points in the NAB AFL Under-16 Division Two Grand Final.

Held at Visy Park after heavy rain forced a move from the MCG, the game was a tough yet skilful contest which overcame the difficult conditions.

NSW/ACT started the game strong, keeping QLD scoreless in the opening term, setting up a 13 point lead.

By three quarter time, Queensland had only managed to register the one goal, having wasted several scoring opportunities. The RAMs were able to maintain a 15 point lead going in to the final change.

However, Queensland came out firing in the final term, booting five goals with the breeze to take the victory.

Sam Milne was deemed the standout for NSW/ACT.

The McLean Medal for best player in the championships went to Queenslander, Jackson Allen.
