It was always going to be a fifty/fifty bet with four former QAFL players going head to head in the SANFL Grand Final on Sunday when perennial finalists Central Districts took on underdogs Sturt at AAMI Stadium
In front of over 35,000 fans it was the Bulldogs who triumphed winning 13.14.92 to Sturt 7.12.54
And keeping in flavour with the success achieved by Morningside in winning this years QAFL Premiership it was two former Panthers that received the Premiers Medallions
Former State Under 18/16 and AIS/AFL Academy Member Heath Lawry (10 possessions 5 marks) and fellow former Scorpion Lee Spurr (22 possessions 5 marks) were serviceable for the winners
Sturt who won their way through to the Grand Final by defeating minor premiers Glenelg featured 2008 Magarey Medallist Luke Crane (19 possessions 1 goal) and Grogan Medallist Matt Payne (13 possessions 1 goal). Both players were fantastic servants of the Zillmere Eagles winning four Best and Fairest Awards between them
