Young Redback on Her Way

Redbacks junior Emily Nixon has taken a running start on her basketball journey after being selected to the WA select team which will travel to Victoria in August to compete in the National Basketball Tournament.

At just 12 years of age, the talented Centre will no doubt benefit immensely from the experience.  Playing against the most talented players in the nation Emily will have the opportunity to develop her basketball and leadership skills in a team environment.

A member of the Redbacks W.A.B.L. program, supported by Daimler Trucks Perth, Emily is widely known at the club for her ready smile and enjoyment of the team environment.  A recent inclusion in the club's Talent Identification Program, Emily continues to impress those around her with a vibrant and positive attitude which is both a teastament to her family and the club she represents.

The P.B.A. would like to congratulate Emily on her selection, along with her family and Naomi Smith who has worked hard as Emily's W.A.B.L. coach over the last two seasons.
