ROAD TO TAOYUAN - Tournament draw released
With the final registration list confirmed earlier this month, ICSD conducted the tournament draw last night, 30th July 2015 in Taoyuan City, Chinese Taipei with ICSD Basketball Technical Director, Jurgen Endress and representatives of Chinese Taipei Deaf Sports Association and Deaf International Basketball Federation present.
Australia has been placed in Group C of the mens draw, drawing powerhouse USA as well as Greece who were World Champions in 2002. The draw also includes the qualifier for the last European spot, Poland or Great Britian. Poland and Great Britian will be undergoing a qualifying phase to be completed by February 2015.
The World Deaf Basketball Championships will be held from 4th-12th July 2015 in Taoyuan City, Chinese Taipei.
Deaf Basketball Australia will be having a second try out camp in September to proceed with selections for the mens team going to the World Deaf Basketball Championships, as well as the womens team going to the Asia Pacific Deaf Games later in 2015.
