Preparations for the 2010 National Masters Tournament to be held in Nelson and Blenheim in March are underway for the Canterbury teams. With the majority of coaches and managers now appointed, team selection processes have commenced.
The coach and manager appointments that have been made by the Canterbury Hockey Association are:
Women
35+ Richard Munt (coach) and Wendy Hughes (manager)
40+ Lisa Kennedy (coach) and Jill Emerson (manager)
45+ Rob Balderstone (coach); manager to be confirmed
55+ Coach and manager to be confirmed
Men
40+ Devan Menon (coach) and Marian Crookbain (manager)
45+ Daryl Foy (coach); manager to be confirmed
50+ Lee Munt (coach) and Judy Groves (manager)
55+ John Maunsell (coach) and Dick Pettit (manager)
Any players interested in playing for Canterbury and therefore being considered for selection, should add their name to the registration forms in the downstairs foyer of the Porritt Park Stadium. Team selection processes will be communicated in the near future once it becomes clear what interest from players exists in each team and therefore what selection processes will best allow for team selections to occur in a fair and transparent manner.
