Local V8 Supercar driver Tony D’Alberto heads to Sydney this week for a season-ending race around a sparkling new street circuit that is expected to attract a huge crowd.
Much anticipation surrounds the circuit and D’Alberto agrees that it will make for great racing.
“The track looks really good. It’s a big test for all the teams, we have no data to work from, so it should make for some great racing,” said the steerer of the Bottle-O Commodore.
Coming off a slippery round in Perth where a lack of grip made for a tough outing, D’Alberto is keen to work his way up the field and emulate his top-10 finishes at Bathurst, Sandown and the Gold Coast during the season.
“The team is eager to give it everything and finish the season off with a top result.
“Less than a second separated 28 cars at Barbagallo, which shows just how competitive the category is at the moment. Every driver is hungry,” added D’Alberto.
With news circulating that his family has purchased a V8 Supercar license and will soon unveil a new car to be prepared and based in Melbourne’s outer east, the 23-year old racer remained tight-lipped.
“We have a big race in Sydney this weekend and then we’ll start looking ahead. What I can confirm is that local V8 fans will love what’s just around the corner.”
