Consistency saw T.D bettering his qualifying times with every lap in the 20 minute qualifying session. A time fo 1.10.2591 saw #55 qualify in 19th and only half a second off poll.
'All of the cars out there are so evenly matched. I am happy with 19th and are determined to get up there in race two'.
Race two saw two safety cars deployed within the first 8 laps, keeping the field compressed. Holding position, #55 moved up the field to be leading the race before coming in to pit for tyres and fuel on lap 25, rejoining the race in 16th.
Safety cars were again deployed to retrieve vehicles, and Tony took the opportunity to come in for fuel and to put the soft tyres on, coming out in 21st with 27 laps remaining.
Once the tyres were up to temp the field became victims of Tonys speed. Passing the likes of Ingall, Holdsworth, Rick Kelly and Courtney to name a few, #55 found itself in 7th position where it completed the race.
'The car was excellent. The soft tyres worked really well at this track as the air temperature isn't as high as at previous rounds. I didn't want the race to end, I could have gone another ten laps! I knew we had good speed all weekend and after our bad luck yesterday we were more determined then ever today. The boys did a great job and these kind of results show what we are capable of'.
We go racing again in 3 weekends time on the 21st to the 23rd of August at Queensland Raceway.
