Twelve to none inside 50s in the first quarter set the scene for a devastating victory by NSW over Tasmania. After winning their first game ever Tassie were unable to match the height and overhead marking power of the Blues.
By the end of the first quarter NSW had posted 3 goals 9 points in what was going to be the norm for this game.
Apart from ruck Allyssa Czylok, Tasmania were height deprived and in one on one contests it was difficult for them to get front berth or implement effective spoils. Even with a 3 goal breeze in the second quarter Tasmania were unable to make an impact on the scoreboard.
NSW through runners Roxy McGee, dominated. Tassie tried to apply pressure but the Blues were equal to the task. Accurate passing by foot and hard running were a feature of their play.
The crowd rose to it's feet when in the last 10 seconds, Tassie were able to push the ball forward with some dogged play by youngster Maddison Smith and Nikki Ellis resulted
