Steelers Show Their Mettle.

Mat Williams scored 27 points to lead the Western Port Steelers to a 69-59 win over visiting Craigieburn on Saturday night.

The Steelers trailed by a point at half time of the Big V Division 2 tilt and led by as many as 10 points in the third quarter

The Eagles tied the game in the final quarter, but a 3 pointer by Chris Jones put the Steelers on top for good. Jones finished with 10 points and 18 rebounds. Chris Samways scored 13 points.

Craigieburn was just 1 of 13 from 3 point range

The victory snapped a 3 game losing streak. The Steelers have a bye this week

Western Port women were defeated by host, Coburg 65-55, their first loss after 3 victories. Keira Beswick scored 27 points and 11 rebounds while Sarah Collins added 11 points.

The Lady Steelers, outscored 26-16 in the paint, host Blackburn on Saturday night
