Under 19 team has been announced
Capital Futsal U19s Australia 2013
Capital Futsal is proud to announce the squad for the upcoming campaign to take on the Australians at the FFA Futsal Nationals in Canberra, January 2013.
The squad comprises four from the 2012 squad, with the rest of the squad filled by players who have come through the College Sport system. All but one player represented Capital at U16 or U19 level in the NZF Youth Nationals in July, where both were Runner Up.
Coach Matt Fejos said it was pleasing to see the progression of the players through the player pathway in Wellington.
“It is fantastic to see the individual development of those that went last time, coupled with the development of the competitive Premier College League in Term 1.
Some of these players have been playing now for four years and we are starting to see the results of the hard work and support by College Sport Wellington and KiwiSport.
Two have been involved with the National squad in the past, and it is quite timely as New Zealand host our first FIFA International tomorrow night against our Australian neighbours, who are off to the FIFA Futsal World Cup in November.
We want to develop these players as individuals both on and off the court, and ultimately produce Futsal Whites to go on and qualify for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup."
