Team Nominations for Term 2 are now OPEN

Little Bears League (LBL) is an after school development competition operated by NSBA and is the second step along our development pathway to basketball fun & superstardom! The competition emphasises learning key fundamental skills of basketball and then applying them in a game situation, and is guaranteed to be the most fun and enjoyable way to learn the game!!

The program will be overseen by NSBA Development Officer Natalie Stafford, who will set the program curriculum and instruct the coaches.

Each session consists of:

• 10 Minute Training session with each team focusing on key fundamental skills of basketball
• 4 x 8 min quarter game

Each team has one coach dedicated to their team, as well as a 'Head Coach' who both referees the game and offers on court coaching.

The competition will run on the following days:

• Monday – Years 3 & 4 - Commencing April 27th
• Tuesday – Years 3 & 4 - Commencing April 28th
• Wednesday – Years 1 & 2 - Commencing April 29th
• Thursday – Years 1 & 2 - Commencing April 30th

TEAM REGISTRATION

Teams contacts/managers are asked to complete the online registration form. Once your registration has been approved, each individual player will need to register with NSBA via this online form.

Your team will not be accepted in to the competition if the online registration is not complete.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION

Individuals who do not have a team but still want to join the Little Bears League can now register through this form. All registered players will then be assigned to a team based on their age and preferred playing day.

PAYMENT

The fees for Term Four (per team) are as below:

• Monday – $700 (9 week competition)
• Tuesday – $700 (9 week competition)
• Wednesday - $700 (9 week competition)
• Thursday – $700 (9 week competition)

NB: This figure will be adjusted depending on the draws and the number of byes a team may have.

The payment will be made on a per team basis and must be paid in full prior to the fourth week of the league. This allows the team manager/contact to collect the fees from the individual players.

NUMBER OF TEAMS IN EACH “LEAGUE”

A maximum of 10 teams per league will be accepted. This is to ensure all teams and players get maximum value and game time out of the program. It is also to ensure we can provide the level of coaching required and also a suitable coach to player ratio. 

THE DRAW AND PROGRAM SCHEDULE

The complete draw and program scheduled will be placed on the NSBA website, whilst any other relevant information will be e-mailed to the Team Contact.
