Pago, American Samoa – Saturday, March 20, 2010 — The
Leone Lions are leading the boys’ high school junior varsity soccer
competition, winning their second game of the season 5-3 against the Wildcats
on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Pago Park Soccer Stadium.
Every win is crucial in this division as
the team atop the standings at the end of the two-round season will be crowned
champs.
Samoana, the defenders from last year, have
only a point to their name after two games and are sitting at fourth
place. Second to the Lions are the
Warriors, followed by Faga’itua, Samoana and then the Wildcats.
In
the only other J-V match last Saturday it was Tafuna 3, Faga’itua 2.
WARRIORS 3, VIKINGS 2
An own goal against the Vikings proved to
be their unmaking as that one mistake helped Tafuna win 3-2 as both teams were
matched up decently against one another.
Because there are only five teams in the
division, by ASHSAA rule this means there will be two rounds for the J-V.
