Pago, American Samoa, Thursday, May 20, 2010 —
An FFAS 7-a-side league will kickoff on Saturday, May 22, 2010 with 12 men and
11 women’s teams competing.
The last time a 7-a-side contest was held
was back in 2006 but it was under the Normalization Committee while this is the
first under FFAS and coming off of the heels of its first Futsal competition.
The Tafuna Jets took the men’s competition
while Black Roses won the women’s side.
Both clubs have teams competing in this upcoming
league and teams will play twice every Saturday with the playoffs scheduled for
June 19.

attended a meeting with the FFAS Secretariat to discuss the competition rules
and regulations.
In the men’s bracket three of the four new
clubs will be taking part in the competition — Fagatogo Blue, Vailoatai Youth
and Kiwi Soccers. Moli o le Ava of
Lauli’i is not fielding a team.
The other nine teams are Black Roses,
Utulei Youth, Pago Youth, Green Bay, Lion Heart, FC SKBC, Ilaoa & To’omata,
