Yap State Seeks Sports Development Officer

Sports Development Position Vacant

The Yap State Sports Council, (Federated States of Micronesia) is seeking to fill the position of Sports Development Officer. To provide leadership in coordinating the statewide development of sports programs in Yap. The successful applicant will have experience working in sport development programs, have excellent skills in building productive partnerships with volunteer sports organizations in a cross cultural setting and have demonstrated experience in strategic and financial management.

A two-year contract and a salary of US$20000 + Car + Accommodation + Relocation expenses are on offer with this position.

SELECTION CRITERIA for the position
* Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing sports development programs to meet the needs of athletes and the community
* Relevant tertiary education qualifications
* Excellent interpersonal relations and the ability to build strong partnerships with the community and stakeholders in sport
* Demonstrated experience of financial and strategic planning and management
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* The ability to work independently without day to day supervision and to lead a team toward common goals
* Skilled with computer software applications
* A commitment to the value of sport
* Experience in sports facility management
* Coach education and training and or coaching experience
