March Madness- Day 4 Highlights

Kolonia, Pohnpei- First match on day 4 of the 2012 Pohnpei Basketball March Madness Tournament was between Out-Laws and the Strippling Warriors. The Warriors trailed most of the game and came back within reach a little too late with the Out-Laws securing the win with a 80-73 score. Rodney Sultan (#11) lead the scoring for Out-Laws with 23 pts followed by Kezin Jr. (#6 ) with 13 pts and Beno Pluhs (#8) contributing 10pts. As for the Warriors, Vincent San Nicolas(#15) led the way with 17 pts and (#6) Jasper Franklin and Troy Yaingelou (#14) each made 15 pts.
In the second game, it was a walk in the park for the SDA Dolphins with a score of 89-47 as they demolished the Kapinga team. Dolphins led from the opening period and never looked back. Carlos (#22), the leading scorer for the Dolphins, sets the tournament high scoring of 36 pts with three other Dolphins in the double digits category: Anthony Brackett (#24) 13 pts, Cain (#11) 11 pts, and Mathew Donre (#9) with 10 pts. Kapinga's Mitchel Amyda wearing #6 scored 11 pts and Dahi Oboi (#20) with 8 pts.
The final match of the evening saw Visual Impact and team Barracudas. It started out a tight game with back to back field goals and threes. In the final minutes, Visual Impact pulled away with their consistent fast break plays never giving Barracudas a chance to set up on defence with a 72-65 score. Bradley Kohper (#21) made 15 pts to lead Visual Impact along with Branson Kohper (#24) with 14 pts and Jerry Robert (#13) and Joseph Artui (#6) both donating 10 pts. Barracudas score lead Benjamin Pahingai (#24) made three 3-balls to go along with his 19 pts, and Oneal (#12) knocked in an extra 11 pts and Frankie Yamaguchi (#8) with 10 pts.
