Pohnpei March Madness Finale

In the 3rd place match between Kolonia and Awak Wolverines saw the young Wolverines team controlling the game with a 8-0 run at the opening tip. Wolverines would hold on to the lead throughout the match until the final minutes of the match with 6:00 minutes remaing, Kolonia came back and took the lead by double digits. Wolverines would then came back within two, but could go no closer. Kolonia took the 3rd place finish with a 77-71 score defeating the Wolverines. David Actouka lead Kolonia with 16 pts, Paul Hein and Will Hawley Jr. with 14 pts apiece and Cassidy Shonber finished with 12 pts. On the losing side, Ramsie Joab led the Wolverines wtih 21 pts, Amor Amor with 16 pts, Adelino Joab with 14 pts.

In the Championship game of the 2012 Pohnpei Basketball March Madness Tournament saw Strippling Warriors out-scoring Out-Laws in the highest scoring match of the tournament. The Warriors registered an amazing 116 and the Out-Laws with 96. At the starting tip-off, it seems like that the Out-Laws will claim the throne with their hustle play, excellent man-to-man defence and full court pressure. The match started out with Out-Laws outscoring the Warriors. At the end of half-time, the Warriors brought the lead down to one. In the start of the second half, the Warriors would then make a 16-5 run and claimed the lead and maintain the lead through out the match. Troy Yaingeluo out-scored everyone with 31 pts and named the tournament MVP.
