New Referees get the Thumbs Up!
For the past 2 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the
Kosrae State Gym the newest editions to the FSM refereeing ranks have been
practicing their skills. Whilst undergoing the practical assessment of the FIBA
Oceania Level 1 Referees Course a fully timed basketball match has been
organised.
Course Instructor Ryan Burns said that “the referees have been improving with each match they officiate. By holding these matches it not only allows the referees to practice in a positive environment but also allows for athletes to participate in a fully timed match.”
Kosrae Basketball Association (KBA) is planning on continuing the matches after the departure of Mr Ryan Burns next week.
