Coach Ryan Burns Lands in Chuuk
Visiting Australian Basketball Coach Ryan Burns has landed in Chuuk and kicked off the 1 month long visit with 2 basketball clinics at Sapuk Elementary School. Assisted by 5 other willing Chuukese coaches, the 2 clinics included a total of 96 children and covered all the basic skills of dribbling, passing and shooting.
There is much more to come with clinics planned for Iras Elementary School, SDA School and Mwan Elementary School in the coming weeks. Ryan is also looking forward to visiting Fefan and Uman islands during his stay to assist the basketball people living away from the main island of Weno.
"We're off to a good start, so I'm looking forward to the next few weeks. It should be a good chance to really assist Chuuk Basketball" said Mr Burns after the clinics at Sapuk.
Mr Ryan Burns will be in Chuuk until June 7.
