Yap Women in Training
Both the Colonia and Tamil Womens Basketball Teams have been training hard throughout the last week in preparation of Game 2 of the Youth Basketball Tournament Championship this Saturday 21st June 2008. With the assistance of visiting Australian Basketball Coach Ryan Burns the teams have been taken through a series of different skills and drills to help prepare them for their Championship match.
“The girls have shown a lot of improvement over a short period of continuos training, which really shows the value of regular training sessions” said Coach Burns. “We have been focusing not only on the skills and drills but also how we train by getting organised quickly, running hard and putting in maximum effort at all times. You train how you play.”
Coach Burns is looking forward to seeing the two teams slogging it out under lights and all spectators are welcome to come and enjoy this spectacle. Following the women’s match will be Game 2 of the Boys Championship where Tamil will be facing a do-or-die contest against Midori after their 2 point defeat last weekend.
