National U20 Men's & Women's hit the courts

The National U20 Men's and Women's Eastern squad have returned to the courts after a week long break after the grueling Post Fiji National Easter Basketball Championships which was held on the 30th March - 3rd April. The teams which are guided by Laisiasa Puamau (men's) and Saula Koroi (women's) had a recovery pool session at the Aquatic Centre on Saturday 10th April from 8am - 9am. The pool session was followed by a light breakfast prepared by the Head of Delegation Ned Taito. On Tuesday 12th March the Eastern squad members hit the court hard at the Vodafone Arena between 5pm - 7pm in Basketball Fiji's goals to prepare two competitive teams for the not to distanced FIBA Oceania Youth U20 Tournament in October which is been hosted by the New Caledonia Basketball Federation. Basketball Fiji has qualified for the event which will feature traditional Oceania powerhouse countries Australia and New Zealand. Although Basketball Fiji understands that we are facing a mammoth task, we believe nothing is impossible which is testimony to the victorous Fiji U22 Men's Youth Team defeating Australia to winning gold in the 2002 FIBA Oceania Youth U22 Tournament in Tonga. The men's and women's youth squads will be training at the Vodafone Arena today (Wednesday 14th April) at 5pm - 7pm and on Saturday 17th April at the USP gym between 7am - 10am.
