Top clash for b'ballers

THE clash between unbeaten teams Saints and Westpac will be the highlight of Suva Basketball Association's final round of club competition at the Vodafone Arena tonight. Saints and national rep Frank Saketa's Westpac have played seven matches and are tied at the top with 21 points each. Former Fiji Under-20 reps Jesse Sikivou, Tui Sikivou and Waymann Whippy will lead the charge for a young Saints outfit. Suva Basketball Association president Leonard Whippy said the top-of-the-table clash would determine which team finished top ahead of the finals next week. "Westpac is a new team," he said. "They joined the competition this year. They've been playing well as a team, making a good name for themselves and also provided teams with good competition." Nine teams are playing in the Suva Basketball Association club competition. Idaman, Shaq Attaq, Pittbulls, Pac Harbour and Noobies are into the quarter-finals with the final spot in the top eight likely to be decided after the Baseliners and Air Iguana clash tonight.
