USP, FNU in basketball final

Fiji National University and University of the South Pacific II are into the Inter-Tertiary basketball final in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

The FNU men’s team qualified for the final after defeating USP One 28-25 in the semifinal and USP team were qualified for the final after defeating FSM 27-25 yesterday.

Basketball coordinator Laisiasa Puamau rated the two teams.

“FNU, they have some national reps, so does USP Two who also have a few along with some islanders.

“In terms of development in basketball these players have really showed great developments looking at their skills and techniques, each of them showed on court.”

In the women’s final, FNU will play against USP Two and in the men’s final FNU will also play USP Two.

“We are inviting all supporters and fans of each school to come down and support their respective teams.”
