Natabua upsets Marist U17s

The Natabua High School Under 17 basketball team caused the upset of the day at the Fiji Secondary Schools Championship in Suva.

They defeated defending champs, Marist Brothers 35-34 at the Vodafone Arena in their first match of the day.

This was Marist’s first loss, having beaten Gospel High earlier 30-16.

Their U19 side however, managed big wins so far thumping Ba Provincial 57-12 then Gospel 72-13 in the highest score margin in any grade.

Saint Thomas also caused an upset beating Yat Sen Secondary, 44-22 in the boys U19 grade.

In the U19 girls competition ADi Cakobau beat Suva Grammar 38-18, Latter Day Saints overcame Ba Provicnial 19-10 and Yat Sen beat Natabua 20-13.

Saint Joseph’s look stong in the U17 grade beating Gospel 32-12 while LDS leads the U15 girls competition with two wins under their belt.
