Big Test for Players

PENI Ratumaiyale, the Fiji under-19 men's coach believes the FIBA Oceania Basketball Championship will be a huge test for his young troops in December.

The championship which is also the qualifier for the World U19 Championship will have top guns like New Zealand and Australia participating.

He said playing the best from the Oceania would be a huge test for his boys. However, Ratumaiyale is yet to name his final 10 players from the current 20-member squad.

Ratumaiyale said he had been working with the players at training for the past couple of weeks.

"This is not going to be an easy competition because it is also the qualifier for the world championship," he said.

"It will be a huge test for the players at their age-group level. But our preparation is well underway and I'm hoping to select the best players to represent Fiji."

Ratumaiyale said he would want to select players with winning attitude.

The Oceania event will be held in December at the Vodafone Arena.
