BASKETBALL ATTENDS FASANOC WORKSHOP

The workshop was held to allow sports to present their development plans leading up to the Pacific Games to be held in New Caledonia in 2011.  With 42 sports affiliated to FASANOC, almost all attended.

The first day was taken with the various sports presenting their plans and Basketball Fiji had the opportunity to show off their new Development Plan and their National Development Program.  In addition they presented a segment of the excellent cd prepared by National Men's player, Baravi Thaman on the Games in Samoa and this brought a "breath of patriotism" to those present.

The second day afforded participants the opportunity to express their ideas on how FASANOC might operate in some of their areas.  This process will be ongoing for a while to allow sports to further add suggestions before FASANOC formulates guidelines later in the year.

Most of the participants agreed that the workshop played an important role in the development of sport within Fiji and with many new faces from sports attending there was the opportunity to network and meet new people.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
