FIJI'S NZ CONTINGENT DO WELL

All three Whippys play for Church College of New Zealand.  Letava's team beat Ragitoto (of Auckland) for the coveted title and for the second year in a row, she was named MVP.  CCNZ played the same team in last year's final, when CCNZ was also successful.  Letava was again named in the All Star Tournament team this year.

Proud parents Caroline and Michael Whippy were on hand to see her play during the week long competition at Palmerston North.

Equally proud parents, Olive and Paul Whippy were in NZ to watch the twins compete.  This year CCNZ were able to rise many places from last year's finish at 15 and Joshua and Jarrod, both starters for their team, were instrumental in getting their team to the third place finish this year.  We are informed that all starters from this year will return next year and so maybe CCNZ will rise to an even higher finish in 2009.

Coaches and personnel from Basketball NZ were on hand to watch the competition, where many of the NZ development players will be selected, BUT to NZ we say - HANDS OFF our Fiji reps.

CONGRATUALTIONS TO LETAVA, JOSHUA AND JARROD!!!
