NEXT months Easter Basketball Championsh-ip is expected to be one of the best organised ever in the history of the game.

That's the view of this year's tournament organizers, the newly formed Raiwaqa Basketball Pla-yers Association.

RBPA official Mala Ravai said they have already started working on how the Post Fiji Easter Championships will be run.

"We were given the green light by Basketball Fiji to run the show because we have been running a very strong club competition and we have the biggest number of clubs playing in our competition.

"That is the main reason why we have been given the nod to organize this year's tournament," Ravai said.

"The RBPA is thankful that Post Fiji Company who has come in to support us by way of sponsorship."

Ravai said this year's Easter Championship wi-ll offer the biggest prize-money ever in the history of the tournament.

"The winner in the men's competition will get $1000 while the runner-up will take home $500."

There will only be 16 men's teams and eight men's team accommodated in the tournament.

Ravai said they expect majority of the clubs to come from Raiwaqa but they have given an exception to last year's champions Lautoka.

The Post Fiji Easter Basketball Championship will be held at the Vodafone Arena from 7th April - 11th.
