Walkathorn Drive a success

The walkthorn drive which was conducted on Saturday the 6th of March between 6.30am - 8.30am was a huge success which generating a little more than $4000.00. Parents and players participating in the 10 km walkathorn which began at the Old Gym car park, up Laucala Bay road, through Ratu Sukuna Rd, down Vuya Rd, along Queen Elizabeth Drive (Sea Wall) and than finishing at the check point. Basketball Fiji would like to thank the parents and players of the National U20 Youth Training Squad for supporting this new initative of Basketball Fiji. The money raised from the walkathorn is to carter for the preparation expenses in preparing our National U20 Youth Men's and Women's teams for the upcoming FIBA Oceania Youth U20 Tournament which will be held in New Caledonia in late October. Basketball Fiji would like to extend our gratitude towards those who have made a pledge and furthermore to the governament for supporting Basketball Fiji in the form of a permit to conduct and hold in the ingurual event for the federation.
