Raiwaqa hosts inaugural basketball awards

THE Raiwaqa Basketball Association hosted their first ever awards night on Saturday in Suva.

Association president Saula Koroi said the event was to thank the players, officials, parents and supporters for their effort this season.

"Everyone put in a lot of effort to make the season very successful," he said.

"And we wanted to thank everyone who had a hand in our success."

He said the event would inspire the players and officials to do even better in the next season.

"We would also like to thank our sponsor's Kavatoks, Sky Technology, Connect, Prison, and also a big vinaka vakalevu to those former players who are now based in the United States for donating the trophies."

Awards: Best U15 Male Player - Laisiasa Tabata, Best U15 Female Player - Lice Uluimoala, Best U19 Male Player - Timoci Namale, Best U19 Female - Tiana Kainamoli, Best Official - Josua Cocker, Most Improved Team - Redz (Women), Best Team Female - Sparks, Best Team Male - Boston White, MVP Female - Amalaini Luvenitoga, MVP Male - Esala Banuve.
