Yat Sen regains lost pride

It was the road to redemption for the Yat Sen Secondary school Under 19 boys yesterday at the finals of the Twisties National Secondary School Basketball Championships.

Coached by former Yat Sen student and national rep, Jese Sikivou, the Yat Sen boys had the upper hand leading Marist from the start.

“We had won in 2006 and 2007 but last year it was a close loss to Marist. This year we came with the theme ‘road to redemption’,” said Sikivou.

“We just wanted to come back and regain the lost pride.”

YSS defeated MBHS by 21-15 taking with them two titles in the Boys division to Flagstaff.

Sikivou yesterday thanked his warriors for giving heir best shot at the two day competition.

“I thank the boys for the effort and especially for showing composure during the game.”
