New Caledonia women win bronze medal.

For New Caledonia Mara Angexetine was outstanding, scoring 24 points and taking 10 rebounds. She was well assisted under the basket by Nathalie Gies, who snatched 14 rebounds for the New Caledonians.

New Caledonia took a strong lead in the first quarter, being ahead 25 points to 8. Tahiti took the second quarter but New Caledonia still lead at half time by 9 points. Lucie Maitere, Orama Laille and Heitiare Pollock scored 16 points for Tahiti in the second quarter.

New Caledonia recovered their composure in the third quarter, leading by 22 points at three quarter time. Tahiti worked very hard in the fourth quarter, but were unable to catch the New Caledonian score.

The end result saw the New Caledonians and the Tahitians winning 2 quarters each.

Tahiti were best served by Lucie Maitere with 15 points and 6 rebounds.
