Sagesse won the First round of the derby against Riyadi
In the annual derby that joins Riyadi to Sagesse , Manara hosted part 1 of this derby , Sagesse who came to this game by a record of 3-1 wanted to keep its good start of the season , on the other side Riyadi the champion for the past 6 seasons started the season like every season with a perfect record 4-0.
The first quarter saw a clear dominance of the home team especially trough Jean Abed El Nour who scored a couple of 3 pointers in a row which gave his team the lead 24-18 at the end if the first quarter, the second quarter saw change in the situation Sagesse managed to close the gap and made a run that gave the lead at the buzzer 39-38 at the half by a shot from Rony Fahed.
In the 3rd quarter Sagesse continued on the same tempo and started to impose an organized defense which caused lot of problems to Riyadi , Sagesse led as much as 10 points through the 3 pointers of Sabah Khoury and finished the 3rd leading 57-49.
In the 4th Riyadi made a comeback and reduced the difference but couldn’t continue till the end due that Sagesse players knew how to handle with the situation and scored very important win in Manara after 4 years of consecutive wins for Riyadi, the game finished at the score if 71-68.
