Dynasty Summer Camp Dairies Day 2
It all comes together...
After breaking the day one barrrier, everything seems to be gelling together on day two. The day started with the usaul warm up and coaches went straight into their various stations to work on the day's agenda which included shooting, dribbling, finishing and spacing.
But the highlight of the day were team building drills that campers went through after the lunch break. The drills used had hardly anything to do with basketball(considering the ball was never used), yet they had everything to do with basketball. The drills got campers to loosen up, talk to each other, co-operate, plan and have fun while trying to overcome various obstacles as teams(skills that are often lacked by many teams).
The other highlight worth mentioning was a video confrence call with an up and coming Ghanain born and raised student athlete, Nana Yaw Sapon-Amoah(a.k.a Alimo of Legon-Presec fame) now in Gillette junior college in the USA. Boarding campers got the chance to interact with him and ask questions on issues including social life, academics, peer pressure, scholarship options and nutrition.
It's funny, compared to day one, there was far less basketballl played yet it will be hard to top the impact of day two. But who knows? Lets see what these Dynasty kids have in the days to come!
