Team Creation down depending champ

DOHA: The dominance of Team Creations and Concepts all throughout the game paid off for their morale boosting victory over defending champion KIA Motors Tamaraw, 87-74,  in the continuing eliminations at the Division A of Western Union Cup 2012, presented by McDonald’s Qatar & powered by Alicafe of Pinoy Basketball Qatar.

Team Creations & Concepts had actually led all departments including the boards and shooting percentage while it effectively carried out a good defense game plan to limit reliable point guard Eric Tamayo from making daredevil drives towards the basket especially in the fourth quarter.

Ronnie Cajayon was also a factor for the win, as he waxed hot at the right time just when they needed him the most when KIA Motors Tamaraw started to close the gap in the second half.

In another exciting game, Al Suwaidi dumped Power Horse Energy Drink, 71-59, to come back to a win column after a sorry loss the other week.

Power Horse tried a come back with a mini-rally cutting down the lead to just four points, 55-51, with six minutes left in the last quarter. Power Horse played rather out of synch and cold that drove them to commit a lot of missed shots and turn-overs.

Al-Suwaidi’s sister team, KBAS Trans-Fast, however suffered a heartbreaking loss over One Family, 77-76, at the Division B.

Ronnie Baltera only converted one of two free throws with a few seconds left in the game that was very crucial for their loss after Ryan Latayan earlier equalized the game in the other visit to the free throw line.

Other game results: Beton Qatar-64 vs QDVC LRT-94; Team Creations-93 vs GDLS Strykers-35; Natsco Autoshop-84 vs Exova Qatar-52; Al-Nawaktha Manpower-80 vs HRMC Consulting Inc.-58; IMCO Engineering-86 vs Qatar Premium-75;
