DOHA: Qatar Kentz continue to keep up its domination in the Division A of Western Union Cup 2012, presented by McDonald’s Qatar & powered by Alicafe of Pinoy Baskeball Qatar (PIBAQ) when it easily routed defending champion KIA Motors, 97-80, in the continuing elimination rounds at Al Gharafa Stadium.
This is Qatar Kentz third straight win with no losses still in top spot while KIA Motors dropped to 1-1 record and shared with Power Horse Energy Drink in the third position.
The unsportsmanlike foul by Freddie Gilboy of KIA to a driving Arnold Calo of Qatar Kentz changed the complexion of the game with still two minutes left even as the losing team tried to trim down the lead to just five points.
The rally led by Calo has drove them to never looked back and even continued to widen their lead until the final buzzer. It was a heartbreaking loss for the defending champs who led in the first half, 47-40.
In the other game, Team Creations and Concepts also lorded it over all throughout the game to trounce Al Suwaidi-KBAS, 90-66, in a lopsided game. August Tailor also escaped from a thriller over Askar Industries-One Family, 68-66.
In the Division B, IMCO registered its third straight win over Consultants, Natsco Garage defeats Juan Pinoy, 73-62, Al Nawaktha won over Beton WLL, 69-56, Panalphina over QDVC LRT, 71-62, and KBAS over Exxova, 65-46.
