Power Horse beat One Family to stay atop

Team Power Horse Energy Drink registered another convincing victory over Manila Express Cargo-One Family, 79-72, and remain on top of the standing with 4-1 as the elimination rounds is about to close in the Class A Division of Subaru Cup 2012 of Pinoy Basketball Qatar (PIBAQ) at the Al Gharafa Training Gym over the weekend.

The winning squad had dominated throughout the game and maintained a double-digit lead that came to as high as 16-point edge even as One Family’s Richard Raagas who led his team with 18 points tried to inch closer in the trading of baskets.

It was however the magic duo of Power Horse’s Chris Guerero and Michael Paderes who were in perfect condition to be unstoppable with their rally in converting the baskets and delivering the ball inside and outside from the 10-15 footline.

The counterpart of Mark Anthony Isip and Michael Olino of One Family who unleashed their all-out domination on the board and power slashes plus the cut in the middle to open up and penetrate with so many chances in the midcourt from 15 footline but such efforts remain futile to close the gap.

In other games in the Division B, Alberto Andalion of Ali Café was slapped with technical foul and was thrown out of the playing area of the hardcourt after he threw invectives at the bench. Ali café however still survived another victory over Gilas 3, 85-77, which the latter was eventually eliminated in this season.

The animosity of the game even at the close of the final buzzer continue to flare up as Andalion continue to challenge the referee’s decision prompting the officiating officials at the table to interfere and continue the game.

“ The spirit of the game would sometimes gone up in such petty conflicts but PIBAQ had always stood up to control the games by strictly adhering to the international FIBA rules,” Said league manager Bombet Vitor.

A no show by Qatar Knights had also awarded an advantage for Division B league leading Natsco Garage which now enjoys and spotless 6-0 record while Smeet Precast also share the same luck with the win by default over another no-show by cellar dweller Al Dar Exchange for Works.

In other results, IMCO Engineering won over Juan Pinoy, 75-70; CEG International over Familia Bisdak, 94-55, KBAS Contracting over Dukhan Ballers, 65-55 and Flamin’Go over Mercury Engineering, 62-50.
