DOHA: One Family-Office System seems to regain its lost glory as the 6th Season champions with a surprising four games winning streak since the start of the elimination rounds of the Power Horse Energy Drink Cup 2013 of Pinoy Basketball Qatar (PIBAQ), presented by McDonald's Restaurants in Qatar & powered by Travelex Currency Exchange.
Three other teams, Stars-Botak, CEG International and QDVC LRT also shared a spotless three wins and no loss record but QP Dukhan, Diplomatic Club, QAFAC and Al Ghassar are in deep trouble in the third weekend games of the season that they need to make a big comeback to stay alive in the eliminations.
At the games over the weekend, a ball interception by former MVP CJ Casas of Dukhan Ballers from an inbound pass by Manny Reyes of Ali Café changed the complexion of the game in the dying seconds to escape a narrow victory, 77-75.
With 21 seconds left, Casas did not waste time to hurl a long pass to team mate Sonny Diangson who converted the basket and tie the game at 75-all. A jump shot with 1.5 seconds left by Jeff Roman from a heavy traffic took them to a two-point edge until the final buzzer.
Batang Sanna also survived a nerve-wracking victory over Nahkowh, 68-66, but not without the tough fight against the veteran moves of hotshot Eric Tamayo but whose frustrated under goal stab were met with tight defense to foil an equalizer for a game extension.
Batang Sanna’s Mark Roxas made a lucky shot with still 22 seconds left to gain a one point upper hand, 67-66 and the one of two charity shot by Raphael Vallado sealed a two point margin, 68-66, to went on to carry his team to victory,
QDVC LRT lorded it over to a lopsided game against QAFAC, 104-81, to continue its winning streak at 3-0 while One Family dominates QP Dukhan, 71-69 to maintain its top spot in the elimination rounds.
Other game results: Stars-Botak win over Unibeton, 75-66; CEG International win over Diplomatic Club, 93-68; KBAS Contracting win over Al Gassar, 64-41; and Mercury Engineering win over Gulf Warehousing, 69-60.
