One Family beats Dukhan Ballers at Pibaq tourney

DOHA: QAT-ART Design One Family bagged a convincing win against Dukhan Ballers with the score at 81-78 during their recent match at the ongoing Pinoy Basketball in Qatar's (Pibaq) President Alvita Cup 2014 held at the Al Gharafa Training Gym.

The Ballers, who were enjoying an 8-point lead as the game entered the last two minutes of the final period, were stunned by the crunch time performance of their opponent. Anthony Isip hustled through the remaining time and managed to add 4 points during curial free-throw chances. 

The combined efforts of La Tungul and Jonathan Dumangcas added on another 4 points to One Family's score to throw the match in deadlock at 78. However, with only 11 seconds remaining, the pressure proved to be too much for the Ballers. 

Personal fouls committed by Guanlao and Batarao and turnovers by Urmineta gave One Family free throw opportunities leading to their sweet victory. 

Meanwhile, in the second game, Mabuhay Restaurant defeated Power Horse, 84-62. Throughout the four periods, Power Horse was trailing behind their opponent made possible by the leadership of Mabuhay's new-comer Jonard Dugay who contributed 26 points and 6 assists in the game. His teammates Eric Tamayo, Arman Catibog and Josend Mangoroban were also in their best forms during the march. They cemented their victory with 22-point lead over the heartbroken Power Horse.

In other game results for the second division, Qafac bagged its third consecutive win when it defeated MCM with 15 point lead. The final score was 82-67. Batang Sanna upset L'Arc En Ciel, 95-56 while QDVC LRT won against Bluu Gulf with the score 88-62.

In 40-Above Division, Firelink\\CEG International defeated ETC Solutions with 8-point advantage (88-80). QP Dukhan defeated Khalifa Vintage (69-51) while Kwarentadoz Warriors won against Sfortysvoys, 63-62.
