Cook Islands Basketball attracts the local media

ZDO Eddie Calic's visit to the Cook Islands has attracted a local media that is certainly a good and welcome exposure for the Cook Islands Basketball. Local TV station CITV, local radio and local newspapers acknowledged and publicised ZDO's visit. During the brief interview ZDO Eddie Calic was talking highly about the help the FIBA Oceania has provided and regularly and consistently provides for the Cook Islands Basketball Federation and for another 20 Basketball Federations members of the FIBA Oceania.

Mr Calic also informed the media about his schedule. During his visit to the Cook Islands between 11th and 24th April 2007 ZDO Eddie Calic will complete the range of jobs and projects, just to name a few: Present the FIBA Oceania Level 1 Referee Course; Conduct a number of basketball clinics in local schools; Visit, assess, take photos and make a comprehensive map of all basketball courts in the Cook Islands; Conduct training sessions for the Cook Islands men's national team in their preparations for the South Pacific Games; Conduct Mini Basketball training sessions; Observe, assess and evaluate players, coaches, table officials and referees during the current A-Grade and B-Grade competitions; Help basketball administrators with usage and application of software (i.e. FIBA Organizer and Internet/Website) in basketball; Conduct training sessions for some local teams; etc. Without any doubt this visit by ZDO Eddie Calic has been (so far) and will be extremely beneficial in many different ways for the present and for the future of the basketball in the Cook Islands.
