Golf Helps Basketball

Yes Minister - Best Costume winners @ Ambrose Golf

The recent Ambrose Golf tournament at the Rarotonga Golf club was a huge success for the Cook Islands Men's Youth Development Basketball Team.  As part of their fundraising efforts for their upcoming tour to Auckland the boys turned to the Golf club for help and the results were well over what they expected.

A total of 22 teams turned up for a fun (some more serious) afternoon of golf and good old competition.  Some of the unintentional challenges came from BCI and Westpac banks, The Environment Department, Prime Ministers Office and Ministry of Works and even the Trust companies got in on the action.

Some of the winners on the night included:-

Best Net - Titans - led by Maki Karati

Best Gross - 88 FM - led by Nick Henry

Runner Up - Runway Store - led by Junior Manuela

Youngest team - Mister and Us - led by Nga Puna

Best Costume - Yes Minister - led by Diane Puna

The Cook Islands Men's Youth Development Basketball team would like to thank the following people who contributed to the success of the night.

But it doesn't end there, the boys will be running a Meals on Wheels service on Wednesday 11th of Oct where you can pre-order your plates of food and it will be hand delivered by the boys themselves.
