BVDL WEEK 2 GAME PREVIEWS

BVDL MEN

DANDENONG vs BENDIGO

Saturday 24th March – 5:30pm

New coach Duncan Berg was unlucky last week in his first game coaching the Green & Gold. Biyendolo gave them a great option inside the paint, but the need to improve their outside shooting to be a threat.  Bendigo had a victory last week and will be full of confidence leading into this match.

KNOX vs BALLARAT

Saturday 24th March – 6:00pm

Knox will be without Patrick Mockiewicz this week, but will still have offensive machine Taylor Dyson to keep the scoreboard ticking.  Ballarat are a very young team this year and may struggle against the Raiders this week.

NUNAWADING vs KILSYTH

Saturday 24th March – 6:30pm

Both teams have experienced players mixed with a wealth of young talent. Hronopoulos was outstanding last week against Dandenong and will be a focus point for the Cobras on defence this week.

FRANKSTON vs SANDRINGHAM

Sunday 25th March – 12:00pm

The loss of experienced guard Marty Vahala in last weeks loss to Kilsyth hurt the Sabres chances as they lacked any real punch on offence.  The Sabres will need to find another solid scorer if they are to challenge for a playoffs spot.

BVDL WOMEN

DANDENONG vs BENDIGO

Saturday 24th March – 5:30pm

Bendigo have a young but team with a huge amount of potential this year, and it may take rookie coach Megan Moody a few weeks to get her new team to gel as one.  Dandenong on the other hand have been playing together for many years and look to be the real deal once again this year.

KNOX vs BALLARAT

Saturday 24th March – 6:00pm

Knox showed they are a quality outfit again this season with 34pts out of the teams 84 coming from their bench players last week against Sandringham.  Ballarat are young team this season and will be tested against the talented Raiders line-up this week.

NUNAWADING vs KILSYTH

Saturday 24th March – 6:30pm

Both teams have lost key players in the off-season and looking to unearth the stars of the future.  Lady Cobras coach Ed Dunstan is an excellent educator of the game and knows how to get the most out of his team.  This will be a tough match-up for both teams, with little separating the teams in talent.

FRANKSTON vs SANDRINGHAM

Sunday 25th March – 12:00pm

Sandringham showed signs of improvement in their game on Sunday against Knox after a disappointing effort against Kilsyth the previous night.  Sabres coach Paul Graham only joined the team weeks prior to the season so the team are still adjusting to the difference in coaching styles..
