Teams in three categories – 25’s 20’s and 18’s all played some terrific Touch; this game is really starting to develop skills, pace and is more than competitive – the overall skills of all players a testament to the enthusiasm and hard work by all and the efforts of all coaches.
The finals series saw the following teams play the finals: -
Transformers v Underwadder (25’s)
NP v RP Rainbow (20’s)
Hwa Chong v RP little Rainbow (18’s)
The experience of the 25’s showed with these girls having played with and against each other for many years past. 1-1 at the full time whistle – the drop off went down to3 v 3 with Underwadder coming out the winner.
The 20’s was a hot final and both teams attacked and defended well – the sheer speed and acceleration of Pui San from NP racing around the Rainbow defenders to run 40m to score the winning TD was the game breaker.
The 18’s was a close game – a TD in the far corner for Hwa Chong early in the game was disallowed due to a forward pass. Little rainbows came back with a 2nd TD to take the lead and held on to take-out the gold 2-1
Thanks to everyone for their role in the event – players, referees and coordinators. The Red Bull girls for their ‘energy’ drinks were very popular – everyone that enjoyed a cold Red Bull grew wiiings.
