ENCOURAGING PERFORMANCES.
The numbers were small but some of the quality was high. Tiim Romatoa won the Shot with a 12.41m. effort, but fought for consistency and the 13m. form which he has been showing in training. Rabangaki managed 11.43m. (good for him) but is still developing a shift technique. Ieie Matang used a simple method, pushed left-handed, and improved from a start of 8.98m. to a final flat effort of 11.30m. This is a PB.
A close 200m. sprint was won by Tanroo Taniera, beating Ieie, but both clocked 23.5.
Running alone but with determination, Tearoba Takeruru clocked 57.6 for one circuit.
Two young JSS athletes took advantage of the Meeting to race over 800m. The girl (Nerita) has been training recently and managed to push the boy (Tokintetaake) to 3-04. She was close up in 3-07.
NO MORE TRIALS PRE-GUAM.
We do not intend to hold any more Trials, except perhaps for the events not covered today, e.g. Hurdles and the horizontal jumps. We have just over two more weeks before departure, praying that Air Marshall planes actually leave the ground next Tuesday (Nov. 27) !!
