Pohnpei Liberation Day Basketball Tournament
Spectators at Pohnpei's Liberation Day Basketball Tournament were treated to exciting fast breaks, tough defense and excellentplayers.
The men of Sohehs, lead by Tom Malawi, Kelvin Sam Dayston Roby and Raimond Micky were crowned tournament champions, while the Kolonia women, with Stephanie and Jessica Yamada, Meagan Yamaguchi, Grace Tobin and Mirua Kerson won the women's division.
Worthy of note is the fact that most of these players gained invaluable experience last summer as members of the FSM national basketball teams that played against the best in the Pacific at the South Pacific Mini-Games in Palau.
The FSM Basketball Federation wants to congratulate the teams as well as individual players for their effort, hard work and victories.
