March Madness- Day 12 Highlights

Kolonia, Pohnpei- On day 12 of the 2012 Pohnpei Basketball Tournament saw the most anticipated match between Kolonia and Out-Laws. It is a rematch of last month's championship game between the two clubs. The intensity of the match is almost a duplicate of last month's meet. At the start of the match, Out-laws would use their man-toman defence and full court pressure on Kolonia, but Kolonia had a surprise up their sleeves. They use their fast break plays on Out-Laws giving them no breathing space to set up their full court pressure. Kolonia took the match 95-84 and with Maverick Salvador (#21) leading all scorers with 26 pts. Hayworth (#4) putting in 16 pts, Paul Hein (#20) with 14 pts, David Actouka (#11) with 12 pts and Willy Hawley Jr (#14). registering 10 pts. Anthony Simram (#15) lead Out-Laws with 17 pts followed by team mates Kezin Jr. (#6) 16 pts, Neal Simram (#4) with 11 pts, and Rodney Suldan (#11) with 9 pts.

In their first victory in the second preliminaries after a close match defeat in their first second prelims contest against the Awak Wolverines, COM Sharks comfortably won their match against P4 A.K.A. Ng with a 83-42 score. Erick (#6) lead the Sharks in scoring with 21 pts, Flow (#14) and Marz (#15) both registered 9 pts, and Rinson (#22) with 7 pts. On the losing side, Ninsper Lawrence (#15) puts up tournament high 17 pts, and Tommy Lucios (#24) and Wallace Jacob (#13) with 9 pts apiece.

In the final match of the evening saw IBC securing a 3rd or 4th place pool spot and guarantees a spot in the quarter finals. They blow out Mojukese with a 90-53 score and leading the way for IBC in scoring is Joshua (#32) with 29 pts, and team mates Clinton (#22) and Rodines (#25) contributing 12 pts and 10 pts. Kelvin (#9) lead Mojukese with 12 pts followed by Lee-roy (#32) with 10 pts, Lery Kohper (#5) 8 pts, and two other Mojukese with 6 pts apiece Bedson (#13) and Bryan (#8).
