Last week the SDA
School in Kosrae had a
visit from Australian Basketball Coach Ryan Burns. Assisted by Sports
Administrator Maker Palsis and School Teachers the clinics was over an hour and
half of fun and skills. The SDA
School has over 50 students
from 5 – 15 years of age with a balance of both male and female students.
Throughout the clinics the students learnt the jump stop, dribbling technique,
passing technique and shooting.
The students from the school must be congratulated for their
effort and attitude, in particular the female students showed great ability and
should be encouraged to continue playing in the future.The SDA
School in Kosrae has a
full sized basketball court with good backboards and rings. It will no doubt be
the starting point for many of Kosrae’s future basketball stars.
