Chuuk Coaches have been making a big impact on Chuuk Basketball. A group of 6 young volunteer coaches have been assisting visiting coach Ryan Burns during his visit. On Saturday 10th May the coaches assisted at a basketball clinic for the Sapuk Community Children.

The coaches are Daichy Rudolph, Reese Rain, Ronnie Edgar, Dave Bisanen, Fetepun Ichin and Brendon Brendon. Australian Basketball Coach Ryan Burns has commended them on their efforts. “It’s so good to see young coaches volunteering their time and being leaders within their communities. They are a shining example of what others can do help the children not only with their basketball skills but with the development of other important life skills also” said Mr Burns.

The group of 42 children was taken through some ball handling drills before being split up into 4 different groups with a coach assigned to each. The clinic then involved a serious of station activities. The clinic was highly successful due to the help from the volunteer coaches who have the skills to become excellent coaches.

These coaches plan to continue helping Mr Burns during his visit and we look forward to seeing more coaches like these helping FSM children in the future.
