Annie La Fleur in Fiji

Newly appointed FIBA Oceania Zone Development Manager (ZDM) Annie La Fleur will be arriving in the country on Thursday 11th July 2013 for a 6 days development visitation. The former Australian Olympian will be centred in Suva, and will be observing, assisting and providing her guidance on basketball programs that are currently running, in particular the Secondary Schools and National Men’s and Women’s Programs. In addition Annie will be meeting with executives from FASANOC, Basketball Fiji, ONOC, Australian Sports Commission, Fiji National Sports Commission and, will assist in strengthen Basketball Fiji’s administrative functions.

Annie La Fleur comes from a sound basketball background which includes representing the Australian Opals for 8 years, where she played in 2 world championship and won a silver medal in the 2000 Olympic Games. Adding to her elite playing career, Annie played in the WNBA from 1999-2003 under the Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics. Annie also played in the WNBL for the Sydney Flames from 1994-2001 and in 2001 helped guide her Sydney Flames to a National Title.
